Dmytro Horiha Joins OTP Bank-PICK Szeged
“I am very excited about the opportunity to join OTP Bank-PICK Szeged and to experience the special atmosphere of both the city and the club. I have heard many good things about the fans, and I can’t wait to feel their energy and support during matches. My goal is to give my best every day, keep improving, and help the team achieve new successes. I would like to thank the fans in advance for their support — I will do everything I can to make them proud of us. I can’t wait to get started and walk this path together!”
Dmytro Horiha was born in Brovary, Ukraine — a city and team familiar to Szeged fans, as the club faced them in the last 16 of the Cup Winners’ Cup in 1993 and advanced to the next round. The 196 cm tall player was born on October 8, 1997.
Horiha began his career in 2016 with Motor Politechnik before moving on to Motor Zaporizhzhia. He also had two loan spells, first with Polish side Szczecin and then with Spanish club Nava.
In 2021, he played at the PICK Arena as a member of the Ukrainian national team, featuring against France, Serbia and Croatia in the group stage of the European Championship. At Motor, he was a teammate of former Szeged player Carlos Molina, as well as Viktor Melnychuk, a product of the PICK Szeged academy.
In 2023, Horiha moved to France to join Pays d’Aix UC. A year later, he wore the shirt of Qatari side Al Arabi. In 2024, he signed for former Champions League winners Vardar Skopje, where he won the North Macedonian Cup this season.
Horiha will become the second Ukrainian foreign player in the history of the club, after Yevgeniy Petrushevsky.
